How do I offer the Green Dot® Prepaid Visa® Card?

Green Dot1 is a great way for clients to receive their tax refund. It helps you too, by eliminating time spent printing and issuing checks. 

 

How to offer the Green Dot® Prepaid Visa® Card to your clients

After you have logged-in to our website and opted-in to offer the Green Dot card, you will receive card stock in the mail. Once you have Green Dot card envelopes, here's how you can offer Green Dot card in your tax practice. 

  1. Select the prepaid card disbursement option within your software’s bank application when prompted.
  2. Enter the 13 digit external ID displayed in the envelope window in the appropriate field in your software’s bank application. Make sure to verify and enter your client's home address and client’s email address. A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS IS NEEDED TO ACTIVATE THE CARD. Hand the sealed envelope to your client.
  3. Instruct your client to download the Green Dot app and activate their card after they receive an email from Green Dot. The card will be loaded upon funding of their tax refund or Fast Cash Advance (if applicable), and they can set notification preferences at GreenDot.com or from the Green Dot app.
  4. Transmit the return in order to create the account and we'll email your client once it's time to complete their registration.

Important Reminders

  • You must opt-in - you must opt-in to the Green Dot card program from our website in order to offer the Green Dot card.
  • Card stock shipped to you - after opting-in to the Green Dot card program from the TPG website, cards will be auto-shipped to you. An email confirmation will be sent before cards are shipped.
  • Receive an incentive - earn $39.95 for every Fast Cash Advance deposited to a Green Dot® Prepaid Visa® Card or get $10.00 for every Refund Transfer deposited to a Green Dot® Prepaid Visa® Card.2
  • Accurate info - make sure clients enter the same name used on their tax return, their correct mailing address and contact information so they can access their account and receive their personalized card in the mail.
