Can we stop the debit to a taxpayer's account?


As long as there is no current payment on record, a taxpayer can be removed from the Auto Collect process from the Auto Collect Management page. Once there is a payment on record there is no way to stop the debit.

To issue remove a client from the Auto Collect program login to our website and visit the Auto Collect Account Management page. Clients that have a "Waiting for funding" status may be removed from the Auto Collect program.

Identify the client you wish to remove from the Auto Collect program and tap or click the taxpayer's SSN or name. 



An overview for the client will load on the screen. Select the "Stop collection" button to remove your client from the Auto Collect program. You will be asked to confirm this removal to save your changes.




If you wish to remove all clients from the Auto Collect program you may also opt-out of Auto Collect before the Opt-out deadline by logging into the website, selecting Programs and selecting Auto Collect from the list of programs. On the next page you may select the Opt-out of Auto Collect button from the right side of the page to opt-out of the entire program. 

AutoCollect is an optional service provided by Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC.  Fees apply to the ERO only with respect to successful collections. TPG is facilitating collections that are being made directly through EROs.
