How do I remove a client from the Auto Collect program?

As long as there is no current payment on record, a taxpayer client can be removed from the Auto Collect process from the Auto Collect Management page. 

 

How to stop the debit to a taxpayer's account

You may remove clients from the Auto Collect program by logging into our website, selecting Programs from the left side menu, and selecting Auto Collect to visit the Auto Collect Account Management page. Clients that have a "Waiting for funding" status may be removed from the Auto Collect program. Identify the client you wish to remove from the Auto Collect program and tap or click the client's SSN or name to continue.

An overview with more details about the client's account will load on the screen. Select the "Stop collection" button to remove your client from the Auto Collect program. You will be asked to confirm this removal to save your changes. Once confirmed, your client will be successfully removed from the Auto Collect program.

Note: once there is a payment on record there is no way to stop the debit from the client's bank account. If we receive a tax refund for your client, your fees will still be collected from your client's refund. Taxpayers will not continue to receive communication(s) once they are removed from the program.

 

AutoCollect is an optional service provided by Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC (SBTPG).  Fees apply to the ERO only with respect to successful collections. SBTPG is facilitating collections that are being made directly through EROs.
