Document Preparation Fee

The Document Preparation Fee (Doc Prep Fee) is a fee you can charge to taxpayers for the time you spend preparing documentation for tax-related products available through Santa Barbara Tax Products Group.*

 

You may charge $9-$160 per taxpayer, with the Doc Prep Fee assessed to your client and paid to you upon taxpayer funding. The sbtpg processing fee charged to you is paid from your funded tax preparation fees.

*EROs may charge a document preparation fee up to an amount allowed by software transmitter. SBTPG charges a processing fee when there is a document preparation fee. For document preparation fees of $9.00-$34.99, the processing fee is $5; for $35.00-$89.99, it’s $7; and for $90.00-$160.00, it’s $10. The document preparation fee is charged to the taxpayer, and the processing fee is charged to the ERO. Terms and conditions are subject to change without notice.
