When fees exceed $500, tax professionals have historically seen a lower success rate collecting unfunded fees through the Auto Collect program.

To optimize the Auto Collect program, and to collect tax preparation fees from as many past due taxpayers as possible, we will collect fees up to $500. This includes both tax preparation fees and service bureau fees (if applicable) up to a combined total of $500.

Outstanding fees exceeding $500 may still be collected from future IRS and/or State funding.

AutoCollect is an optional service provided by Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC. Fees apply to the ERO only with respect to successful collections. Santa Barbara Tax Products Group is facilitating collections that are being made directly through EROs.
